Overview:

ACMI Federal is a government contracting organization that works with government agencies to support the American industrial base.

Our position enables us to leverage commercial market innovation and private capital for government stakeholders while lowering the barriers to entry for new manufacturers and hardware startups.

By strengthening domestic manufacturing capabilities and onshoring production, we are bolstering critical industries and enabling supply chains to respond to current and future challenges.

Working with Naval Surface Warfare Center Indian Head Division (“NSWC IHD”) to establish a collaborative research and development ecosystem to enhance energetics capabilities. ACMI is creating an environment where industry, academia, and other organizations in the private sector will work side-by-side with government stakeholders to solve critical munitions industrial base challenges, increase production efficiency, and accelerate applied innovation for novel and existing energetic material systems.

Munitions Campus Program

Partnering with the Department of War to support tenant prototyping awards and equipment purchases for a new munitions campus ecosystem. This ecosystem will bring together large and small private companies, government agencies, academic institutions, and other key players in the defense industrial base to research, develop, prototype, and scaled production for new munitions, manufacturing techniques, materials, propellants, delivery systems, and other associated capabilities. This facility will also support the increased production of existing munitions. Munitions Campus broke ground in February of 2026.

Critical Chemicals Program

Working with the Office of Industrial Base Policy, Manufacturing Capability Expansion, and Investment Prioritization office to develop new and more resilient supply chains for Critical Chemicals and Advanced Manufacturing Technologies. This work resulted in the development of new supply chains for these foundational ingredients for the first time in more than a decade. These chemicals are used in everything from medicine, cosmetics, and consumer goods to agriculture, munitions, and heavy industry. ACMI achieved the first domestic production of a key chemical in 15 years, bolstering national security and supply chain resilience.
