ACMI Adds Limitless Aeronautics To National Security Industrial Hub To Rapidly Scale Mass Production Of Drone Payloads To Modernize Capabilities And Close The Munitions Gap
Limitless will transition drone-independant payloads and munitions from R&D in Florida to high-volume manufacturing on ACMI's Indiana campus
BLOOMFIELD, Ind., October 7, 2026 - The American Center for Manufacturing and Innovation (ACMI) today announced that Limitless Aeronautics (Limitless), developer of drone-independent, vendor-agnostic payloads, initiators, and munitions for unmanned aerial systems (UAS), will be expanding operations to ACMI’s National Security Industrial Hub (NSIH) in Indiana. Under the agreement with ACMI Federal, Limitless will develop, qualify, and scale production of four universal drone payload attachments and three munition variants on the NSIH Munitions Campus.
Through the collaboration, ACMI Federal is providing Limitless with the resources and ecosystem required to advance its capabilities and deliver at scale, supported by the advanced manufacturing support and shared services available at the NSIH campus. The initiative aims to produce over 100,000 payload and munition systems within its first two years while transitioning combat-proven hardware into high-volume production. This enhanced capability at this scale is designed to help close the critical munitions gap for the U.S. military and align with the new initiatives around drone warfare as well as autonomous systems from the Pentagon.
"Unmanned systems are being fielded faster than the industrial base can arm and equip them," said Ken Rothaermel, CEO of ACMI Federal. "Limitless has built technology that works on any drone. Our job is to give them the production floor, interconnected services, and supply chain necessary within our Munitions Campus and National Security Industrial Hub ecosystem to manufacture in volume."
Limitless products are built to interface with any UAS platform, from 5-inch quadcopters to aircraft with 20-foot wingspans. This architecture establishes a new baseline for unmanned systems, enabling aircraft from any vendor to instantly serve as flexible, multi-mission platforms for lethal strikes, logistics support, and tactical resupply. This effort is a dramatic increase in drone capability production, establishing America’s first universal, drone-independent payload layer for Group 1–3 drones while creating skilled careers for American technicians, engineers, and production managers.
"Limitless Aeronautics is proud to partner with ACMI to open dedicated American manufacturing lines at its Department of War-supported Munitions Campus," said Alex Gardner, CEO at Limitless Aeronautics. "The mission moves our repeatedly combat-proven hardware into high-volume production to establish and scale America’s first truly universal, drone-independent payload layer. Our foundational principles are putting capabilities into operators’ hands, creating American jobs, and rebuilding the defense industrial base to unleash true American drone dominance."
Limitless joins a growing roster of NSIH tenants. In July, ACMI announced that SPINNER North America and iRocket would operate at the hub alongside Prometheus Energetics, expanding its site to approximately 700 acres. The campus footprint has grown from 1,100 to more than 1,500 acres, making it the largest aerospace and defense project in the state. The campus is adjacent to Crane Army Ammunition Activity and Naval Surface Warfare Center, Crane Division.

About Limitless Aeronautics
Limitless Aeronautics is a U.S. defense hardware manufacturer defining the payload layer for lethal and non lethal unmanned operations through the first truly drone vendor independent and mission independent ecosystem of payload systems, one way attack warheads, dropped munitions, and mission hardware for Group 1-3 unmanned systems. Limitless turns today’s highly fragmented drone market into a unified combat ecosystem, enabling drones from competing manufacturers to share a common family of mission capabilities without locking soldiers to a single platform, vendor, or use case. Repeating combat proven over two years across multiple warzones and fielded in seven countries, Limitless systems are rapidly expanding across a global network of UAS manufacturers, defense partners, and operators. By separating mission capability from the drone carrying it, Limitless is establishing a universal hardware standard for unmanned operations, allowing operators to rapidly configure, field, and scale lethal and non lethal capabilities across an evolving fleet of unmanned platforms.
