JANES: ACMI expands Indiana industrial hub

The American Center for Manufacturing and Innovation (ACMI) is expanding its National Security Industrial Hub (NSIH) in Bloomfield, Indiana, the company announced on 22 July.
“Increasing demand from defence operators and manufacturing partners has driven the total footprint of the flagship industrial hub to grow from its original 1,100 acres to more than 1,500 total acres,” the statement said.
ACMI also announced that Spinner North America and iRocket plan to establish operations at the NSIH.
Spinner North America, a provider of computer numerical control (CNC) machine tools and automation solutions, intends to set up an advanced manufacturing facility to “support the rapid prototyping and mass production of a broad spectrum of hardware on site by providing advanced machining technology, application engineering, process development, automation expertise, training, and production support to tenants and mission partners across the campus”, the statement said.
iRocket, which builds solid rocket motors (SRM) and reusable rockets, has identified the NSIH as its next testing and development site, according to the statement.
Prometheus Energetics, a joint venture between Kratos Defense & Security Solutions and Israeli firm Rafael Advanced Defense Systems, is also expanding its site within the NSIH from 600 acres to approximately 700 acres, the statement said, adding that the hub will host Prometheus' headquarters and advanced SRM production facilities.
